The Cossack Series Red Sandalwood chessmen are crafted from solid Red Sandalwood and Boxwood and stand tall at 6 inches (king). These Pieces are based on the classic Staunton design that’s so popular, but have a few design departures that help make this collection truly special. The pieces have been finely polished and feature black leather pads underneath to protect the board.
Our luxury four woods dual profile solid wood chess board is the perfect companion for these pieces. On one side of this beautiful board you will find solid inlaid squares of Red Sandalwood and Maple, edged with solid Rosewood. Turn the board over and we have inlaid squares of solid Ebony and Maple. The board has been lacquered to a gloss sheen and reflects the form of the pieces creating a stunning chess set that is a pleasure to behold.
