The board is carefully crafted from individual squares of wood. Each is 2mm thick and has been inlaid perfectly to create a stunning chess board. Housed inside the cabinet are the solid wooden pieces, carved from Sheesham and Boxwood. Fashioned in the Staunton style they have a fantastic attention to detail and a nice edged feel to them. Each piece has a magnetic green base to it which allows it so stick to the wooden board .A beautiful set that has been finished to a very high standard.

This crafted wooden chess set has been fashioned from solid ebony, rosewood and boxwood. The result is a stunning set with a beautiful board and finely detailed chess pieces. The cabinet is made from the luxurious rose wood is plush lined inside. The finely inlaid squares are ebony and boxwood which lends itself nicely to a real black and white chequerboard pattern. The white chess pieces are carefully carved out of boxwood in the classic Staunton style while their opponents are fashioned in dense solid ebony. A really stunning chess set made from dense and fine materials. One of a small quantity we have managed to secure. Crafted from solid sheesham and boxwood this chess set feels heavy and solid. A ten inch solid inlaid board which features a sliding drawer that pushes out to reveal the pieces. The drawer is held in place by a sprung ball device that prevents it from coming out when not required. A very good standard of finish gives this product a lovely natural wood feel to it. The highly detailed pieces, carved in the Staunton style are non-weighted. The pieces sit inside the drawer which is lined with plush green felt. Although there are no draughts pieces included there is ample space inside the drawer to add your own or indeed any other games related items that are small enough to fit inside. The base of the cabinet is also lined with felt to ensure your table top does not suffer scratches.

Twelve inch folding inlaid chess set with Staunton pieces. This is a basic set with a frame made from white wood. While there is no magnetism or other frills, the basic quality of the materials and craftsmanship is superb. Solid hardwoods are used for the pieces and the playing area which gives the chess set a perception of being much more expensive than it really is. The Staunton chess pieces are solid sheesham and boxwood and are non weighted. This set is hand crafted in India and is ideal for those who are on a budget but don’t want to buy a mass produced Chinese made set.

This fourteen inch wooden chess set probably represents our best value set to date. The most striking aspect is the set of Staunton chess pieces which although non-weighted are outstanding quality for a set of this price. The frame of the cabinet is made from white wood which is light in both colour and weight. The playing area is made up of sheesham and maple wood and is polished but not lacquered. A superb quality set, hand crafted in India and brought to you at a price to rival the cheap Chinese sets but a level of quality that far exceeds them.
