This fine chess set has been crafted from solid Golden Rosewood and selected Boxwood. It has a fine polished lacquer finish which brings out the superb wood grain and brings a lovely deep colour to the wood. Inside are solid Staunton Chessmen with magnets inside them. They cling to the chess board with just the right amount of pull to keep them steady yet allow a seamless game of chess. None of the magnetic or metal parts are visible of course, it’s outward appearance is of a 100% solid wood construction. This fine chess set is a great size for portability yet still large enough for a good game of chess. The solid hardwood construction means it weighs in at a healthy 600 grams. It feels dense and heavy in the hand, the lacquered finish adding to it’s sense of quality and distinction.
